Jenny Hope
Jenny Hope came to Whitstable as someone who already knew she could paint, but wanted to push further. Three years of classes later, she is more confident and more willing to take risks, though she'll tell you she's still working on loosening up her style.
Her subject is landscape, worked in oils, and her paintings are increasingly about colour and feeling rather than strict representation. She draws inspiration from Monet, Cézanne and John Singer Sargent, a lineage that makes complete sense when you understand what she's reaching for: work that captures the mood of a place rather than just its appearance.
She has been painting for three years.
