Linda Da Rios
When Linda Da Rios moved to Whitstable for her retirement, she decided to take up painting and joined a local class. That was fourteen years ago. She arrived a beginner with little experience, and these days she paints and draws with real confidence, and can see for herself how far her work has come. The whole creative process, she says, has been a genuine pleasure.
She likes to work across different mediums and has tried her hand at all sorts of subjects, with a particular soft spot for animals and birds. She's drawn to abstract art and wildlife painting alike, and the thing she's still working towards is becoming more confident with her drawing.
One of the quiet pleasures of class has been watching a single piece of advice change everything. A suggested colour she'd never have reached for herself, added to a painting, and the improvement takes her by surprise every time.
