Aidan Flood

Aidan Flood came to art at fifty-eight, with no artistic background and no particular plan. He did a year of adult education in Tunbridge Wells, moved to Whitstable, and never stopped. Ten years later, he would be perfectly happy putting "artist" on a new passport, which is about as clear a statement of intent as you can make.
He works in oils, acrylics, pastels and gouache, and has a particular fondness for box art, assembling found objects into constructed pieces alongside his painting. Abstracted landscapes are his most consistent thread. He describes himself as his own worst critic, which, after ten years and this much range, seems unnecessarily harsh.
He has been painting for ten years.
